Cultivating the soul of SLU

Over the last several years the soul of the South Lake Union neighborhood has been called into question by various media sources.  After being intimately involved in the neighborhood for these past 6 years, it is my firm belief that, though it may take a much closer look than many of us are used to giving, the soul of South Lake Union is alive and well.  Like any garden, sometimes it just needs to be cultivated a bit to bring it into full bloom.

The soul of a neighborhood can be experienced through learning it’s history, cultural gathering spaces, quiet  spaces, centers of social consciousness and its public art.

This will be a perpetual work in progress so check back often. I will attempt to use this site to curate these spaces that are contribute to the soul of a this neighborhood. You can also see them on our Instagram feed tagged #slusoul  Please feel free to send me your thoughts and spaces to add to the list anytime you discover them.
