Cascade School – these tiles in the sidewalk in the Cascade section of SLU depict some of the story of Cascade School that used to stand at the corner of Harrison and Pontius across from Cascade Playfield.

The stack at Stackhouse – located at Harrison and Pontius, Stackhouse apartments are highlighted by the huge stack rising from it’s courtyard.  The Supply Laundry Building, built in stages beginning more than 100 years ago, was the site of a major commercial laundry operation until the 1980s … The structure is also associated with a major 1917 strike by laundry workers, mostly women, who won better wages and an eight-hour day.
